The Opening Shot...
Welcome.
That's right, yet another movie-related blog. But we're hoping to offer something a bit different here.
Here we hope to offer appreciation in place of derision; to provide analysis instead of snark; to inspire interest and discussion and help increase the joy that can be derived from viewing and thinking about motion pictures rather than engaging in cynical grumbling, celebrity gossip and mean-spirited sniping. Here we celebrate the most dynamic form of art in modern times.
There will be reviews, profiles of actors and artists in the filmmaking world, commentaries, fun stuff but most importantly, a closer look at the meanings, minutiae and magic contained in great and not-so-great films, hopefully to include many that do not normally get this kind of attention or consideration.
So, the projector has fired up. The coming attractions are done. The cue has gone through and the lights are dimming...
