The Thing - Supplement

As we mentioned in the episode, the broadcast television cut of the film including intro narration for each character and an alternate ending incorporating an updated version of the "Watch the Skies" speech from the 1951 film. Check these bits out here:



And here we have a slightly lengthened version of the final scene including some stop-motion footage that John Carpenter had removed after deciding it didn't quite mesh with Rob Bottin's gooey full-size creation:
